    Though never as popular as DC, Marvel or even Archie, Charlton Comics had a long run from 1944 to 1985 and also produced a line of successful publications like Hit Parader. They didn’t spawn the superhero icons other publishers did but released a variety of titles that have become beloved by millions. They were fortunate to employ an array of legendary writers and artists who displayed a creative passion in the Charlton titles more than with other publishers, where they received more pay and fame.

The CHARLTON COMICS SILVER AGE COVER GALLERY showcases hundreds of the company’s wild product from the early 1960s, all shot from the original photostats and other materials used to produce the books over 50 years ago! From the collection of famed artist and editor, Dick Giordano, who has many covers in these collections. Featuring their top genres: LOVE, WAR, WESTERN and just plain WEIRD, as illustrated by some of the world’s top comic creators!

An explosion of bomabastic comic book covers created by an array of artists for a variety of Charlton Comics war titles released in the early 1960s. Each cover is reproduced from the original photostats and silver prints used to publish the comics over 50 years ago! They are from the collection of artist & editor Dick Giordano and provided by his assistant Rob Jones. Each volume includes entertaining trivia about the comic books and their creators, with help from comic historian Nick Caputo.
