TOP SECRET SOCIETY FILES
AGENT ADAMS
The SPIRITS MASTER!
Reality name: ALEX ADAMS
Background: Alex Adams was a sailor in the United States Navy during the latter part of the Cold War. He was a trained Assault Boat Coxswain, Master Helmsman, and all around trouble maker.
After getting into several “unauthorized” situations off ship, typically concerning the use of alcohol and chasing after a mysterious female known as “the blonde…” Adams was faced with a fateful decision.
The Navy saw a potential in Adams that he hadn’t seen in himself. They offered him a chance to get shipshape or ship out. Although he had promised to stick to the adage: Never Again Volunteer Yourself in terms of what NAVY meant, he rolled the dice and joined “Plan B.”
They would take a drunken deck ape and make him a “super-sailor” they said.
As the only survivor of the Navy’s Plan B Program to create super-sailors, Secret Agent Adams now works for the American shadow agency known only as the “Secret Society.”
Skills & abilities: Agent Adams acquires super abilities when he drinks adult beverages. Each “power” lasts approximately one hour. For instance, when Adams drinks American whiskey, he gains enhanced strength; gin allows him to fly; with vodka he can read minds; a shot of rum and he can breathe underwater; tequila makes him run faster.
Adams has a complicated and fiery romantic connection to Lucy Hell, Devilgirl, and she just may be the one reason he’s willing to work with monsters and aliens for the betterment of mankind, rather than working alone as he has always preferred.
Special appearances in literature: Monster Zipper (2008), Agents of Karma (2010), and in the graphic novel Secret Society Origins No. 1 (2015) by Bradley Mason Hamlin & Mort Todd. To read the extended Secret Origin of Agent Adams, please see: Yesterday Died Tomorrow
